so far so good

so far so good
Can easily group golf ball sized groups with 15 rounds at 25 yards. If it holds zero it gets a 5/5 from me! UPDATE: Brought my Marlin 60 .22lr out to the range yesterday for the second time since I initially zeroed in the Tasco, and it held zero perfectly! Consistently grouping golf ball sized groups from 25 yards (15 shots) with little effort. If you actually tried you could probably poke all 15 rounds through a few holes for about a quarter sized group at 25 yards with ease. UPDATE2: I brought my Marlin 60 to an 200 yard outdoor range and was plinking steel at 100 yards effortlessly. I have made zero adjustments to the windage or elevation and it's been moved around quite a bit. I was even able to nail some steel at 200 yards however it was a windy day so the .22lr bullets were getting bullied around. I have not tried grouping at 100 yards yet -- hopefully it's less windy next time I get out.

First, I see that I bought this Tasco scope at the right time. The price just went up at Amazon by over $5.00. I should point out that the shape of the observed "picture" seen when looking through the scope isn't round. It's more of a rectangle with rounded corners, or maybe like an ancient television screen shape. The scope provides a pretty bright image considering the objective lens is 20mm.

I bought tis scope to use on a new Daisy Powerline Model 35 that I also bought from Amazon. But first, I wanted to try it on a Beeman spring piston air rifle that I was going to give one final chance to show me some kind of consistent accuracy. So, I sighted and mounted this scope on two air rifles. The Beeman......well, I give up on it. So, I mounted it onto my Model 35, which I intend to leave it on that gun. I'm 59 and my eyesight isn't very good, and I need new glasses. I had fired maybe 125 pellets through the Model 35 with open sights, and I got some great groups. As in 3 pellets through one hole the diameter of a pellet from 10 yards off a rest. But I could see that my eyesight was limiting the great groups.

When you mount this scope you should not tighten down the clamps as if your life depended on it. Just snug them in and don't break or strip them out. I did have to adjust the rear lens a bit for a nice clear view of the crosshairs, and to get the target as clear as possible at the same time. The ring for zooming from 3 to 7 power works nice and isn't too hard to turn. The windage and elevation adjustments work all right, and I used a lot of clicks sighting in the two rifles.

The scope is really helping me with this air gun. My best groups are still the same. But when you get an entire group through one tiny hole the same size as whatever caliber you are shooting, it cannot get any better. The difference is I am able to get more of this type of tight group with less flyers. So I can get maybe 40-50% really tight groups. Much better than with the open sights. It's not that the Model 35 has crappy open sights, because it does not. The sights are really pretty good. It's my eyesight.

I got this scope for $16.97, and for the price I have to give this scope 5 stars. This scope is helping me to get groups measuring 0.0" center to center from a smooth bore BB/pellet gun when shooting good quality pellets through it at 10 yards. That means I have about $52.00 into the gun and scope. And this isn't my first scope by a long shot. I have probably owned 10-15 scopes. Most have had much larger objective lenses. But again, for an inexpensive air gun and the low cost of the scope I am very happy with this setup.

The elevation and windage adjustments are poor quality. The scope initially shot high and to the right by about 3 inches at 20 feet distance. The elevation adjustment, at its full extent, did barely work, but without an inch to spare. The windage adjustment did not work at all. I couldn't return it because I had waited too long. And I didn't want to waste any more time, so I cut my losses and threw the scope in the trash.

I picked this up for a .22 LR rifle I have that had a broken older tasco scope on it. I've used Tasco's for years for rimfire, so I'm not a stranger on what to expect from them. This scope is very comparable to most they've ever sold, and the 3x7 variable is a nice 'add on' to the old fixed 4x scopes of past years.

When it came in, before ever mounting it, I eyed through it - it is a duplex reticle (thick lines on the outside, fine wires at the cross-point). It didn't mention duplex reticle in the ad, but since most 30/30's are duplex, no big deal there. (for those that don't know, a 30/30 reticle gives you a measure of 30-inches at 100-yards when set at 4x, so you can use it to rangefind on known-distance or known-sized objects). Anyway, the reason for my 4-star instead of 5-star rating? Even though the objective and ocular lenses are round, just like in the picture in this offering, the actual reticle is TV shaped (again, another obscure feature from Tasco from back in the 1970's where the reticle isn't round, it is basically 'oval-shaped' with a 'wide-angle' field of view - something I personally don't care for). Since they didn't mention 'TV' or 'Wide Angle' as a scope feature, I kind of felt misled in the product description. I actually thought they had quit making this reticle form-factor. It seems they have not. It is a decent scope, holds a decent zero on a .22 LR, and the 30/30 feature is quite accurate. Overall, a solid 4-star scope for $20, and should work FINE on any air rifle or rimfire you have.

I was amazed at the quality of this scope which Tasco is usually not known for. I mounted it on my Crosman 760 Pumpmaster and get half inch five shot groups at 15 yards, three in the same hole. Have not tried it with BB's yet. No slippage at the mounts, no need to over tighten the screws. Adjustment was quick and easy, you have to get used to there being no clicks and count your adjustments by half, quarter and one eight turns. I would buy a few more but it looks this one will be around for a long time, so there goes the old sweet truth: a durable quality product is bad for business.
Bought another one and mounted it on a RWS .22 Cal. air rifle. I have had problems with other scopes coming loose due to the double recoil of the air rifle. This scope stays put without the need to over tighten the mounting screws. The manual says 0.25" per click at 100 yards. This is incorrect. I got 1.5" shift of impact with 6 clicks at 14 yards. That is 1.8" per click at 100 yards. And did I forget to mention, there are no clicks, the adjustment turns smoothly, you will need to keep your eyes on the slot markers.

I bought one of these for my son's 10/22 and installed it Christmas day. We haven't zeroed the scope yet, so my review is based on build quality, light transmission, appearance, etc.

This is about what you'd expect for a $20 scope. That is, it'll get the job done for plinking with a .22 or air rifle, but you're not going to be shooting matches with it. Build is solid and the zoom is nice, although the rotation is a bit tight for my taste. As you might expect with a 20mm objective, the scope is fairly dim, so it's certainly no go-to for low light shooting. The reticle is satisfactory.

Again, you get what you pay for. This is fine for an afternoon at the range, but if your shooting squirrels at distance, go for something brighter.

I suppose it`s ok but is very hard to align I had to put my rifle in a vise , take a shot then align the scope to the hole. I would suggest paying for at least a $50.00 one to get a good quality. Randy
