Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2009Let's get the "bad" stuff out of the way first. Yes, the reticle is slightly out alignment. I'd call it about two degrees. Is it the end of the world? Well, since this device will not be used for an engineering project my answer is "no". I found this sight to be very usable.
The second "problem" is that I had no experience with red dot sights so I didn't know what style to get. Something like this, more like a traditional scope, or a more open style. When the Bushnell sight arrived my first thought was that it was too big to use with both eyes open so I also got an ADCO Solo sight (those who play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will know the shape) so I could compare and see which I felt more comfortable with.
I first sighted in the ADCO and thought that shooting couldn't get much better. Then I tried the Bushnell and found that, yes, it could. Not only was it just fine for closer shooting, it was also pretty terrific for targets farther out. It may be just a function of the reticle style but the center dot with the three lines (two horizontal on each side of the dot and one vertical below the dot) works very well with this style sight. With this sight you get the feel of a scope and the lines help put the target right on the dot so your target's perceived distance is not as far as it is, even with "only" 1x. This sight works well at any distance you can still see the target and can be effective with .223.
Note also that it pairs perfectly with a flat-top receiver and the standard iron front sight (the M4A3 style). I'm told by an armorer at ADCO that any sight with the word "tactical" in the name will co-witness the iron front sight. Beware, this is a great idea but may not be in use industry-wide; some merchandising wonk may think it's a cool word to use with any design. Seems to be true with ADCO and Bushnell, anyway.
So, the ADCO Solo will probably get put on my M590A1 as this Bushnell sight was the surprise winner for me. Note that I have not had it long enough to comment on battery life, my thought would be to always have a few 2032's with you no matter which red dot you buy. As I did with caliber and my rifle choices, I'm sticking with sights that use only one battery size (which may effect your choice; different manufacturers may use different batteries). Less stuff to carry. Also, sight and reticle style will be an intensely personal choice, I'm sure. Best to try out a few before buying any sight if you can.
Hope this helps!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2015Nicely built sight with nice rubberized coating. The sight works well and looks good. Only giving three stars for these reasons: the optics are not bright and clear - there is a very distinct blue color cast. Second, the rubber caps fit loosely, fall off easily, and provide no means of securing them. I know you get what you pay for and this is a very inexpensive sight. That said, I'd seriously consider spending a bit more money and getting a Sightmark (which I also own). I've relegated this sight to a 10/22 plinker - the optical quality just isn't there for me. However... many may buy this and like it. On its own, the sight picture is good. Where it suffers is by comparison. It's the TV showroom effect - when you've got this side by side with some other sights in the $100-200 range, it really suffers by comparison. I'd pass on this and go with a different brand.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2011This is my first "red dot" scope; therefore, I read every review possible before purchasing. At 50 I can no longer see the front sight on my trusty iron sights, so I decided to join the modern era. My initial reaction out of the box was very positive. The quality looked fine; the reticle was straight and very crisp. It can be blurry but only if the intensity is too high for low light conditions. The same setting that is blurry indoors is crystal clear outdoors. There are ample intensity settings for every lighting condition. The knob was easy to turn, and the elevation and windage adjustments work well.
My secondary reaction was terrible. After mounting this on my M4AR15A3 picatinny rail, I was terribly distracted by the relative movement between the reticle and my front iron sight. When my head was centered perfectly, the reticle cowitnessed with the front sight, but the slightest movement of my head made them diverge in a distracting way. I quickly boxed the scope up and called to get return instructions, thinking that what I was experiencing was terrible parallax. I then started shopping for an Eotech, distraught that I would be forking out another $300 or more. Upon looking at an Eotech video, I realized that perhaps the relative movement between the two sights I had experienced was not abnormal and that what was important was whether or not the reticle moved in relation to the point of impact. I pulled the Bushnell back out of the box. I mounted it on my AR again and realized that the dot remained on the point of impact wherever I moved my head. Eureka - I guess you can chalk it up to inexperience. I zeroed the rifle and within very few rounds was shooting very acceptable groups at distances out to 200 yards - have not yet shot farther than that. For close up work, targeting is much quicker than open sights for me.
Other qualifications to my review: I have not yet removed the battery cover, so I don't know if that is an issue yet for me. Also, I would take away a star for the simple reason that I have not had the sight long enough to give it a star for dependability or durability; however, I will give it the star back for price. The lens covers do look like they will not be around long, but I aim to handle them with care. I mounted the sight directly on the rail with no riser, and I have no rear sight currently. I have the Bushnell mounted relatively far back where there is no room to mount a rear iron sight; however, it looks like doing so would be simple if that is your preference. Somewhere I remember reading that the center dot was 3 MOA, but it looks like 1 MOA to me, which I like for distance shooting. In summary, I like the sight and am definitely not sending it back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Unit, Great Price!
I had previously bought one of these units for my M4 (.223) carbine.
The unit is rugged, easy to set up and use, and holds zero very nicely.
In fact, it worked so well, I decided to by another one for my CQB M4-9mm.
Well worth the $169.99 sale price! And it came with free shipping.
I would recommend this unit to anybody looking for a good, inexpensive and reliable red dot type optic!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bushnell 730132P
installed it on my AR15 and works like a charm, 10 shots and was hitting a 10 inch target at 200 feet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value!
I was looking for a good set of optics that wouldn't break the bank for my AR15, these are it. Great rugged design, bright red/green reticle and for the price, can't beat it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Bad design
The nuts holding the base if the scope are cheap, break easily and easy to loose after 2 5 rounds
I don't recommend to any one.
