Best scope. There are a lot of competitors out there but if you want the best, Trijicon is the answer. I tested a basic ACOG for my work several years ago and I've wanted to buy one ever since. This is a great combat scope. The one I have at work has been getting beaten up every day for several years now and still works perfectly. The model I purchased is an upgrade with the RMR and is very very nice. I checked every website and Amazon had the best price on this scope at the time. I was okay with waiting but if it is not in stock, order sometime before Christmas. They will definitely try to fulfill the order by Christmas. This scope mounted easily and quickly to an M4. It only took 20 shots to zero this scope. Buy yourself a scopegoat to protect it during storage but that's all you need.

If you are looking at this specific model of Trijicon ACOG then you already know about it and know it's the one you want. I personally prefer the green chevron over the red simply because it catches my more quickly than red, but to each their own.

This is the Trijicon TA31F-G-RMR as stated in the product title, with the green chevron in the ACOG and the red-dot reflex sight mounted on top. Eye relief is a tad close for my liking, but it was either this or the 3.5x TA11 and I prefer to have dual sights to cover both scenarios rather than a single "middle of the road" sight.

Although I used an Aimpoint M2 red dot on my rifle in Iraq (2004), a lot of the Infantry and SF guys we were with used the TA31F and loved it. In my opinion the ACOG is the ultimate sight for an AR platform weapon, if you can afford it. There are a lot of other fine optics out there but for me personally I didn't want anything but a Trijicon on my rifle. Rock solid, crystal clear, holds it's calibration, really nothing not to like about them (except for the price!).

If you're still trying to make up your mind about which specific ACOG to get, hopefully these notes I wrote up while researching for my own can help you.

    Trijicon ACOG models
    ================
TA11F 3.5x35, red chevron, less magnification, more eye relief (can have eye further back)
TA31F 4x32, red chevron, more magnification, less eye relief (must get closer)
TA31F-RMR 4x32, red chevron, the Ultimate Scope
TA31F-G-RMR 4x32, green chevron, the Ultimate Scope
    TA33-8 3x30, amber chevron

If the eye relief is least important, get the TA31
If the field of view is least important, get the TA33
If weight is least important, get the TA11

    TA31 - 9.9 oz - 5.8" long - 32mm objective - 1.5" eye relief
    TA33 - 6.9 oz - 6.1" long - 30mm objective - 1.9" eye relief
    TA11 - 14.0 oz - 8.0" long - 35mm objective - 2.4" eye relief

I love my new ACOG. Even with just a slight presence of light, my green chevron illuminates enough to be seen, making this the perfect sight for the occasional home invader or Muslim terrorist. Who wants to be worried about how much battery power is left and where those spare batteries are. With the ACOG, battery power is not necessary.

One of the best if not the best scope on the market! Pricey but worth it. Green chevron is highly visible and like the option to get quick up close target acquisition with the red dot RMR.

If I had to say one bad thing about this optic, it would be the mount while it does indeed work, it's ugly. But hey that was easily fixed with a GDI mount that was under $50.
