Solid on a 7.62x39 AR15 build!!

Solid on a 7.62x39 AR15 build!!
This thing is damn near perfect. Glass is incredibly clear, and good objective and ocular focus adjustments. I was SUPER sceptical about buying a <$100 scope, AND rings, but I really wanted to budget on this beater build. Glad I pulled the trigger! This thing is right up there with my Vortex and Primary Arms Scopes. Turret tracking is pretty darn good too with VERY MINOR deviation. I'm impressed. Took it all the way out to 275 yards today, no problems. I REALLY hope it holds up, time will tell. Not sure how I would feel about beating on it, such as in a combat scenario, but for an every day beater, coyote killer, it will be great. A few cons: I will be replacing the rings with a one piece in the near future. These rings work, if that's all you got, but I prefer to mount my scopes with proper torque (ie not thumb nuts.) Also, the illumination features are neat, but really unnecessary. Although the ice white looking reticle at dusk is pretty sweet. Another con maybe, the size. It's fairly large, may or may not bother you. Side note: the included caps are great as well, flip up nice, and feel super high quality. Pics: 100 yards, 175, 250

Let's start with the quality... after a few hundred rounds now... it seems to hold zero and easily adjusted as expected. The materials and construction seem to be well built. For a .22 caliber plinking at 100 yards or less, the lenses provide a really clear image. I put this on a Ruger Precision .22. I think it was the perfect scope for the rifle. You can find less expensive and far more expensive, but if you want accuracy, clear imaging and repeatability... it was a good purchase!

Has been to the range 3 times since I've ordered this scope from Amazon. It has seen 200 168gr Federal Matchkings .308 win rounds so far out of my Remington 700. And you know what? I'm actually surprised its still holding zero. Build quality is pretty good for a scope of this price range, it doesn't feel cheap as some other scopes in this price bracket.

The included rings and flip caps were a nice touch, and worked well so far without any problems, ring cleared my Heavy contour barrel without any issues. The multi-colored reticle was interesting at first, and your friends will oohh and ahhh. But in all honesty, you'll probably stick to the red and green. Still nice to have an illumination option for a scope that is this affordable though. And I loved the mil adjustments for windage and elevation as they have a nice click to them. Just keep in mind you need to unscrew 2 lock a bit " with the include allen wrench" to adjust them. I think this is one of the reasons why its able to hold its zero so well. Could be a pro or a con depends on how you look at it.

Any other downsides? Well, the eye relief is what I was expecting from a scope in this price range, which is about 2-4 inches. Which isn't bad by any means, but I had to readjust my cheek rest to get a decent sight picture. Which did put my eyes a little too close to the scope for comfort, considering I grew accustomed to my Nikon Buckmasters. Doesn't let in as much light as my Nikon either, not a huge difference, but you can tell the UTG is darker side by side. Also keep in mind that 4x-6x is great for shouldering, use any levels above those and you really should be in a prone position, or have some sort of bipod to get a clear sight picture. Lastly, this could be my astigmatism, but once the reticle was illuminated, the mil-dots were much harder to see. You can still make them out, but a definite increase in effort is used.

I think its a great entry level scope, and is a step up from others in its price range. Great for finishing up a build or if this is to be a paper hunting range plinker.

This is a very good scope for the price. Clear image, easy to adjust, holds zero, and feels well-made all around. I use this with a Benjamin Armada PCP air rifle, and it's a great combination. It's not easy to find a scope with 16x magnification for a price that would suit use on a backyard air rifle, and to find one that's this good is a pleasant surprise. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of five is the illuminated optic. Frankly, I think this is a gimmick to justify a higher price, and a fifth wheel in an otherwise sleek design. I figure that, hypothetically, it's to make the reticle stand out against dark backgrounds, but in practice I have no trouble ever seeing the standard, unlit reticle, no matter where I aim it. Maybe if I was aiming at a wall covered with pictures of other rifle reticles it would help mine stand out. In low-light the illuminated reticle actually makes it more difficult if not impossible to see through the scope due to the glare. Plus the instructions straight up tell you that if you leave the lithium battery in the scope for a long time without replacing it, it might destroy the scope, so the whole system almost seems more of a liability than anything. Regardless, when used as a normal, unlit rifle scope, it's great.

This is an affordable but functional optic option. UTG glass is clear and the controls work great. UTG/Leapers has been in business a number of years and has been improving their product line with time. While this is an import spec optic, it has been manufactured to UTG engineering standards and is just a well built solid optic. I have not compared this to the newer OP3 that UTG has but I'm sure the newer optic builds upon this solid platform. I went with the long version rather than the compact version, simply because I thought it looked better on the airgun I was installing it on. The compact does weigh a couple ounces less but not enough to make a difference for my application. I would buy this optic again for other applications.

Pretty nice scope, I got a chance to test it on the weekend. I must say it was flawless. I put it on a Remington 700 sps 223 , seem to work very well , held zero , shot around 60 rounds. Glass is decent , I could see the bullet holes at 200 yards . But just barely. Mind you that could just be my ageing eyes. Lol. Anyway good scope for the price, I'm happy with it. And yes I would buy another...
