Nikon Buckmasters II 3-9x40 BDC

The Right Match For Your Hunting Rifle

One of the most trusted riflescopes among deer hunters has now been reinvigorated with the all-new BUCKMASTERS II riflescope series. The BUCKMASTERS II series offers the brightness and clarity of Nikon's Fully Multicoated lenses, as well as the generous eye relief, 100-yards parallax setting and Nikon's popular BDC reticle. If you're passionate about hunting deer, the BUCKMASTERS II is the right choice for your next hunt.

Nikon's BDC Reticle

The BDC reticle allows hunters to hold 'dead-on' at ranges exceeding those previously thought possible. The BDC's unique see-through ballistic circles offer an incredible advantage for long range shooting, yet allow a normal sight picture for shorter-range shots where the cross hair itself is the aiming point.

Fully Multicoated Optical System

Multiple layers of anti-reflective compounds on every glass surface provide bright, vivid pictures and optimum light transmission from dawn to dusk.

Precise Hand-Turn 1/4-inch @ 100 Yards Click Adjustments

Positive-click reticle adjustments get you zeroed in quicker and maintain your setting, even with heavy recoil.

Spot On Ballistic Match Technology

The BUCKMASTERS II, like all of Nikon’s riflescopes, is optimized for use with Nikon Spot On Ballistic Match Technology. Spot On allows you to discover all of the exact aiming points on your scope’s reticle at various yardages for your specific ammunition and load.

Great scope for the money!

Great scope for the money!
I bought this scope with the intent of putting it on my daughters Mark II and then transferring it to her .243 when hunting season rolls around. I couldn't be happier with this scope. It's about the best bang for your buck around. We have it mounted on a Savage MII .22LR right now. We put it on weaver mounts with Burris Z low rings. We had to remove the sights to get the scope to fit with the low rings, but it was worth it to get a good height for my daughter. It is also not too bulky or overly large. Will work on small or large rifles. It has held zero perfectly, and has handled about 3-4 drops from the shooting bench and in the back of the truck, and hasn't moved zero at all. The turrets have a satisfying click when adjusting and have the lift and twist to zero which is very handy. We have done a little bit of playing with the BDC app from Nikon, and so far it is great! We will have some more range time when we get it on the bigger rifle to check some further distances. I just ordered another one for my 30-06!

Awesome scope, put this 3-9 on my Benjamin Maximus .22 air rifle since this was so low priced. I can hit 50 yards no problem, and using the BDC, (down to the 3rd circle) I can hit a 100 yard metal target and rewarded with a DING! :) I have bought several lower priced scopes, such as the Tasco (the reticle failed and turned sideways on my Beeman Silver Kodiak X2), the CenterPoint, (clarity doesn't compare), CVLife, (worse clarity) and other failed "cheaper" units. Since the Maximus has no recoil, I foresee this unit lasting, and I can use it for other rifles if needed. Got tired of the lower priced failed units with no clarity and got something much better, NIKON! I have 2 other Nikon's, both 4-12 x 40 on my AR's and I love them too. I totally recommend this 3-9 x 40 if you want clarity for a good price, who doesn't want that, after all, it is a scope and you need to "see" what your targeting with the clearest vision right? Pffft, no question.

I wish I could give this scope 4.5 stars. I own three Nikons. I started out with a 3x9 prostaff nikoplex for my 30-06. I put a 4x12 prostaff bdc on my 300 win mag with the idea that I could reach out with it. I purchased this scope (Nikon buckmasters II 3x9 BDC) for a muzzleloader I just purchased. I didn't need the BDC reticle but I could not find the nikoplex for the buckmasters on amazon and I didn't want to spend the extra 60 bucks for a prostaff. I wish I would have and I think that the difference is evident. Firstly, while I believe that the buckmasters has nice crystal clear glass I notice that in the first and last 5 minutes of light it blurs just a touch more than my prostaffs (I live for those minutes. Secondly, I'm convinced that the BDC reticle is harder to pick up than the nikoplex. Against dark objects I have completely lost the reticle if I wasn't really focusing on it and again in the darker lights I lose it all together.
I read a couple of reviews that said the reticle is too thick. I didn't find that to be the case at all. Actually I wish that towards the outside of the cross on the reticle it was a hair thicker which I think would make it easier to pick up.
With all that being said, this is still a Nikon. It's still a quality scope; its still guaranteed for my lifetime; and it is still a slammer value for the money.

This is my third Buckmasters II scope ... I replaced a much more expensive, ultra-long range scope that was mounted on my Mossberg MVP Predator 5.56mm bolt rifle with this scope, which is more appropriate for the caliber. Being a Nikon derivative scope the glass is excellent and low light collection is superb.
The scope zero'd quickly and it didn't take long to set up the dead-hold BDC dots.
Although Nikon Spot-On isn't intended for the Bushmaster scopes I'm able to get pretty darned close with the dope I put into the system for the rifle and custom loads I shoot...
Nikon & Bushmasters have teamed up to produce a useful and affordable series of scopes. Good job, guys!!

Installed this on Ruger American 30-06, Took it to the range to sight it, It was simple process. Had it sighted on 3rd shot. Was hitting Florida Oranges at 50yrd away on single shot. Had a few friends shoot the Rifle first time firing a Bolt action 30-06 and where knocking targets back as far 100yrd away on their first shot. I've never used Nikon Scopes before, I'm a Leopold fan, and wanted something affordable for my current setup. Picked it up for around 100 shipped. Must of been on sale, since when I saw it this model at my sporting store it was around 160. Also Nikon has a really nice Lifetime warranty on there scopes, Not sure if it will need it. Constructions is on par with 200 dollar scope.

Bought my 1st AR and put a red dot scope on it. MISTAKE! Realized I couldn’t actually use it because my vision sucks. If you are shooting further than 10 yards out a scope is much better. The problem is there are so many choices out there and so many reviews from people and companies just trying to sell their junk. I read at least 50......Then bought a $60 scope on EBay thinking I saved money by not getting a name brand (nc star). WRONG! It broke a month later. Then I landed on this scope and since it was a brand name I figured I would give it a try, if it sucked I could return it. It is amazing, great clarity and easy to adjust the bdc without a tool. I hated spending the money at first but it was worth it in the end. I’m not a deer hunter so I can’t speak on anything like that but it will allow me to see at least 100 yards away so that’s worth it to me. I’m sure it can go further but haven’t tried it. For the beginner this has been a great scope. Nothing more than I needed and didn’t compromise quality.
