Specifically designed for discriminating hunters and shooters, the Crossfire II series of riflescopes offer the highest levels of performance and reliability. With long eye relief, a fast-focus eyepiece, fully multi-coated lenses and resettable MOA turrets, there's no compromising on the Crossfire II. Clear, tough and bright, this riflescope hands other riflescopes their hat. The hard anodized single-piece aircraft-grade aluminum tube is nitrogen purged and o-ring sealed for waterproof and fogproof performance.
Dual use for Shooting Tactical/Hunting
V-Brite Illuminated MOA Reticle
- Uses the V-Plex format along with battery-powered electronics to illuminate the center dot for better low-light performance. Good for hunters/shooters during extra-low light conditions.
- Second focal plane (SFP) reticles are located near the scope’s eyepiece behind the image erecting and magnifying lenses. This style of reticle does not visually change in size when you change the magnification. The advantage of an SFP reticle is that it always maintains the same appearance. Listed reticle subtensions used for estimating range, holdover, and wind drift correction are only accurate at one particular magnification.
Specs
- Adjustment Graduation: 1/2 MOA
- Travel per Rotation: 30 MOA
- Max Elevation Adjustment: 100 MOA
- Max Windage Adjustment: 100 MOA
- Parallax Setting: 100 yards

1/8/21 After using this scope I felt inclined to update my review.
PROS: This is a fantastic scope. It turned a rifle I could never hit with into a tack driver. The Target field is crystal clear as well as the cross hairs which makes it super easy to shoot 1 MOA groups if you have it on a capable firearm. It also has adjustable turrets that can be zeroed which is an excellent feature when you have to make longer shots that require windage and elevation adjustments. This feature allows you to easily reset your scope to its ranged zero settings.
CONS: Dim illumination. When I use it I find that a 10 setting is required, but it does have a nice sharp dot that is easy to use. I haven’t tried it at dusk yet. My personal preference is to use without illumination the cross hairs and center dot is easy to use.
SUMMARY: This is fantastic scope for $200 you would never regret your purchase.
The reason I'm still leaving a review is that I ended up buying this exact scope elsewhere, for a super bargain price.
Great design, lifetime no questions asked warranty, Perfect reticle, nice thin crosshairs, parallax adjustment works great, at lowest and highest magnification, the entire FOV is extremely clear, and the lenses provide a perfect view. The large sun shade is very effective. Very easy to zero, and together with my home built custom AR: Shilen match grade .223 wylde 20" 1:8 barrel, Mega nickel boron upper and lower receiver set, JP clamp on adjustable gas block, Aero Precision Mlok handguard installed with Seekins barrel nut (Aero handguard is only designed to work with special proprietary Aero upper receivers, but I researched the mounting screw holes and used a seekins barrel nut), and of course a Vortex Crossfire II 6-24x50, I'm able to shoot .3 MOA at 100yds with hand loaded 77gr SMK's from a bench rest. The rifle would probably cost $4000 if it were a factory gun. Sorry, I can't help but brag about my Custom AR work, and what the gun is capable of. I planned on using a much more expensive optic, and use this one temporarily until the budget would allow something a little more fitting for the gun. But I'm so please with this scope, that I'm going to leave it on there.
This optic is worth much more than it's price, and it's impossible to be disappointed by it. Buy it. You won't regret it. Unless you get the wrong one!
The one I received didn't even seem to be a Vortex. It looked like it may have been previously returned, or something weird like that. Whatever, it happens.
Happy Shooting!!
My purpose for buying this was range shooting from 50-200 yards on a spikes tactical home built AR. After a couple of minutes I was zeroed in at 50 and moved my way up to 100 and 200 yards. I can tell you firsthand the optic performed exceptionally well and I had no issues at all while shooting. The V-Brite illumination itself is low and barely visible on the highest setting during the day but that did not concern me. I bought the V-Brite version after looking at youtube reviews on 1-4x scopes because as one video said "when I turn my illuminated reticle on out there in the cold wilderness, its a good feeling". While the illuminated reticle is hardly visible during the day, at night it is just right. - youtube Best AR-15 Scopes by Nutnfance for a great breakdown on scopes and price range depending on your budget.
I couldn't justify buying a $400+ variable optic even if it is made in Germany, Japan, Philippines, or any other preferred country outside of China. Some shooting and optics forums will tell you that its a waste to buy anything made in China or anything under $500 for a scope/red dot. Personally, if you are only hunting or range shooting, the value should be what is the best bang for buck. I think Vortex does just that with the Crossfire II.
Pro's:
-Variable scope magnification
-Clear glass with little to no fish eye at 1x magnification
-Great eye relief
-Able to shoot close range and holdovers for 200-250 yards
-Visible illumination at night
-Great manufacturers warranty
-Reliable company which stands behind its products
Con's
Caps for the scope
Don't be fooled into thinking you need the very best scope when it isn't practical. Take baby steps and get familiar with lower to mid-range priced optics before you decide to go for the top end models. That way you're basing it off of personal experience and knowledge that works for you. The Vortex Crossfire II is a really solid scope and will suffice all your needs.
