This has become my go to scope for .22's. It's petite and yes will fit the case of the folding Ruger 10-22 without taking it off. Optics are brilliant and clear with a nice fine reticule that doesn't obscure the target. Should there be a problem Leupold's warranty service is legendary. The key is " If you can't see it, you can't hit it. " I know that out of the starting gate that this might seem pricey and I balance that with the thought that my grandsons, son should be able to use this. This is what it looks like on a Browning Buckmark rifle with Weigand Magnum 1" scope rings ( Also reviewed and available on Amazon). Be safe, have fun.

I purchased this scope for my Ruger American Rimfire .22WMR rifle. It has worked perfectly with the rifle. My groups with this scope are superb -- the optics are clear and the hardware is first-rate, just what one would expect and demand from Leupold, even though this is a relatively modest scope. This scope is certainly as good as I could want or need. The fit and finish are absolutely perfect.

If you want the Leupold scope covers, which are pricy but ultra-nice, you will want this one for the eyepiece: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1RSK1C58PESQX/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm ... You will want the Leupold 28mm cover for the objective lens of the scope. I have these on mine and they are terrific. This scope is just plain magnificent on the Ruger American Rifle .22 WMR.

I like everything about this scope. Recommended. RJB.

Bought this for use on a Savage .22 FV-SR. Most important to me was weight and reticle. I had a 4-14 Centerpoint on the gun while deciding what would be the best scope. I settled on this one because its Made in USA, lifetime warranty, Leupold name, and it meets my requirements of small, light, and fine reticle. Having never handled one in a store, i was surprised at how small this scope is. Almost Tiny compared to what was on there. After mounting on the gun, the reasons for buying become even more obvious. This is one of the most expensive scopes i looked at for my 22. It seems like too much money when you consider a bsa sweet 22 is less than 50. But once mounted on the gun, you realize quickly there's absolutely no comparison. I'm so impressed looking through this. The reticle is super fine and the glass looks better than any of my nikons. I used Burris Low mount rings...will probably be putting leupold bases and rings on but havent done that yet. The lifetime warranty and Made In USA are icing on the cake.

I own almost a dozen Leupold scopes, on my ARs, my deer rifles, even on my turkey gun and muzzleloader. What can you expect from a rimfire scope? I guess I expected too much. I bought Leupold again, thinking this would be the best I could do for my .22 rifle...but I think I'm wrong. There are other scopes out there that are easier to zero, allow better light transmission, etc. The adjustment knobs are not crisp...they have some slop in them and I'm disappointed in that. If you need a "Jordache" nametag, then get this. Otherwise, do some more research and get something better. At least these come with rubber covers...but flip up covers would be better. Mounted easily on a 10/22 on Weaver mounts. The crosshairs are easy to read, and you can adjust the eyepiece...but the adjustment knob is not crisp either...it's a bit sloppy. I expect discrete clicks for windage and elevation, and I don't get them. I expect a clear, bright scope, and I didn't get it. Oh well, I'll try again with a different brand.

I like it. Mounted on 10/22 Takedown and it fits fine in the factory bag. I zero'd it a long while back and the bag has taken a ton of tumbled and bumps to the scope as well... Zero has held. Clear glass. Good stuff.

This is a nice scope but I do not think the glass in this optic is very clear. The eyepiece and objective lens are not what I'm used to, otherwise it appears to be a very nice quality scope. The scope is very small overall, so if you are working with a tight fit on your barrel due to an obstruction (like a rear sight), that limits your objective lens size, I'd consider one of these

Word to the Wise. Leupold has been selling a GREAT .22 rimfire 2-7x VX-1 (now apparently discontinued) with 28 mm objective and a TERRIBLE .22 riimfire 2-7x VX-1 with 33 mm objective. Retailers often don't keep them straight. Here, for example on amazon, people keep saying in reviews and answers that THIS is a 28mm objective scope. I doubt it. It says in the product info on this website that the Objective is 1.36" in diameter. That translates to 33 mm. Not 28 mm. The 33 mm scope is poor. Be advised. (I've had both scopes -- returned the 33 mm).

Purchased this for use on a Ruger 10/22 takedown model. Fits in the bag while mounted on receiver (used UTG QD rings also purchased here) and holds zero. Was put off at first by rumor mill that Leopold scopes were made in China -- only the ones with the green ring. Gold ring denotes usual US made scopes. Quality glass as would be expected. The fine duplex is good for accurate pin point hits at fifty yards and would have liked having BDC hash marks (bullet drop compensation) but knew going in that this wasn't offered on this model. Good scope and best price here per the usual.
